Note: The Palmerston Street facilities are now closed to visitors and volunteers until early October 2023 due to repair work being undertaken on Worsley Cottage. Contact can still be made via email, although, unfortunately, we will not be able to conduct research during this period.
We are a community-based, volunteer organisation located in Maryborough, Central Victoria. Our tireless volunteers are committed to restoring, preserving, and displaying Maryborough's exciting history. We organise fundraisers, exciting community-building events, historical research, and provide in-depth training sessions for our volunteers. Maryborough was established in 1854 as one of Victoria's early gold rush towns.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
The Maryborough Midlands Historical Society acknowledges the ancestors and descendants of the Dja Dja Wurrung, traditional owners and carers for many thousands of years of the land on which we live and work.
